What the hell have we been up to?

Hello!

This is Justin, from Blue Hour. I decided to start a blog about the band to keep anyone who is interested up to date on what we have been doing. There’s been an awful lot of excitement these days. Things have felt chaotic in a very good way. We’ve been…busy.

Every release from Blue Hour at this point has been just me and one of my oldest friend’s, Nick Kovacs. The making of The First Warm Day and If You Can’t Find The Sunshine are memories that I’ll always hold very near and dear. We used what we had, no fancy studio and learned a lot along the way. What I learned most is that I needed to fill Blue Hour out with an actual band. It took a bit, but we are finally there.

Matt, Trevor and Kevin have expanded the sound in ways I didn’t think were possible. It’s been incredible. We have been writing tirelessly over the last few months, we played some shows and we’ve developed a culture that feels special.

The last few months we started tracking new tunes at Oranjudio in Columbus with engineer, Brandon MacLean. It has been a hell of a time. Working with Brandon has been a puzzle-piece fit and we have learned so much from him and the experience. The new songs have so much heart in them and Brandon has done such an amazing job at capturing our sound and who we are.

We will be announcing some things very soon. We can’t wait to share what we have been working on with y’all. Thank you for reading this and for your support. Maybe I’ll do this sort of thing more often.

We have a show on April 1 at Musica in Akron that you can catch us at with some other wonderful artists. We will be playing some new songs as well. Hope to see y’all there.

Much love,

Justin
